Text messages are fun! But don’t do them while driving, please! In fact, I can’t text and walk at the same time; I have to stop to send my text messages. Also texting is much easier when there is a keyboard involved. They are easier on the Blackberry models that offer keyboards in my opinion.

Did you know that text messages use a different bandwidth that cellular voice messages? That means that sometimes when cellular service is unavailable, you can still send text messages. For example, during Hurricane Katrina in 2005, text messaging was the only link some people in New Orleans had to the outside for a day or two after the disaster.

Why am I talking about text messaging? Lightyear Wireless has now introduced text messaging plans. Anything from 250 messages per month to unlimited messages. These plans took effect October 1, 2008. This is yet another value added layer to the service offerings of MyWireLessRep.
