The Right Phone for Texting

When you go to look for a phone, are you just looking at price? Or do you think about the features you might need and be using a lot of? Text messaging is a popular feature and Lightyear Wireless like most providers, has texting plans to suite you. Some people use a lot of text messaging and others do not. Me, I rarely use text messaging but it comes in handy every so often. Other people I know use it religiously. For example, I know one guy who can’t make or receive voice phone calls at work due to the noise interuptions they create.  But he can receive and send text messages. This lets him get important messages from his wife (e.g. hey can U pick up Kayla [their daughter] at the bus stop?).

Now if you do think you’ll do a lot of texting, it’s not only important to choose the right plan (the right number of texting minutes alloted), but also the right phone. You’ll be much better off with a phone that features a qwerty like keyboard such as the Blackberry Curve or the Blackberry World (see the features on this page). If you get a standard phone with a 12 key system, letters will be tripled up on each key (and quadrupled on the 9 key!). If you enjoy that sort of challenging texting, fine. But if you want to make the texting easier, choose a suitable phone with a keyboard. Your digits will thank U.
