Beware Hidden Ongoing Costs

A few days ago, I wrote about a lower cost of entry in the MyWirelessRep business. Apart from start up costs, you should always look at ongoing costs when sizing up a business opportunity. Sometimes there are hidden costs there or costs that are not so obvious. It’s easy to justify a few hundred dollars to start up a home based business, but you need to keep an eye on your continuing costs especially at first.

For example, one company I joined had a low cost of entry. But after I joined, I discovered that in order to make any amount of money in the business, I would need to spend a minimum of $400 per month to be in their advertising program. While this turned out to ok in the long run, it wasn’t something I had planned for and created a pinch on cash flow for a few months.

MyWirelessRep has not only a low cost of entry but low ongoing costs. $49.95 per month for your website and marketing tools is something just about anyone can plan for. There are no hidden costs like that example of other company. There things you can spend extra money on if you want – like magazines for marketing and lead packages – but you don’t have to.
