G1 Not Ready for Prime Time

Not everyone is happy with Google and TMobile’s new offering - the G1. Below is an article published by Engadget Mobile that questions the hype surrounding the G1. These are some major limitations! You can read the article for yourself but the worse limitations in my opinion are no audible turn-by-turn directions, no video capture, and only 128 megs of memory for application download. This is one of those phone where the reality doesn’t really live up to the hype.

When shopping for higher end phones, I always suggest people stick with phones that are tried and true (like the Blackberry models) versus a new introductions like the G1. Perhaps future versions of the G1 will be more on par with Blackberrys but not today.
