The Employee Mentality

Do you have home based business mentality or an employee mentality? One way to true independence (financially, emotionally, spiritually, and time) is for someone to own their own business. However, the work and freedom that comes with owning one’s own home based business can be too much for some people. Many people can’t get past needing someone to regulate their time and pay.

A job only offer fixed income and to make matters worse you get taxed on that income before you see it. You have no real leverage in how much you make - that’s all decided by someone else. Furthermore, you are at the mercy of someone else’s schedule and must rely on your boss for time off (vacations, medical time, emergencies).

So the employee mentality is something that someone will have to work through in order to be successful in a home based business. It’s a matter of comfort zone. If you want that independence, then you’ll need to move outside that ‘employee mentality’ comfort zone. And shedding that skin may take some time. Why not start now?
