Is there any such thing as a recession proof business? I am not sure about ‘recession proof’ but Lightyear Wireless is certainly ‘recession resilient’. Face it: people aren’t going to give up their cell phones.
We’ve all heard volumes about increasing joblessness. We know it’s true and more people than ever are without jobs and trying to find them. When you think about it in terms of people looking for jobs, what do you think is their most valuable tool? A computer? Maybe that helps the search, but the cell phone is the most valuable tool in landing a job. Who wants to miss that call offering a job? NO ONE.
That is why smart job searchers will give their cell phone number on their resume and/or cover pages so they are more likely to receive the call back. A smart job searcher is not going to want to trust his/her land line which they may or may not be there to answer. Which brings me back to my original point. Cell phones are an integral part of life and will likely be one of the last things people will give up. (You can even see homeless people with cell phones nowadays).
When choosing a cell phone plan, one of the choices you have to make is how many minutes you will use each month. Did you know the average U.S. wireless consumer uses 861 minutes each month? So you would need to ask yourself are you “average” in that respect?
Minutes are broken down into two categories: “Anytime” and “Nights / Weekends”. The main restriction is on the Anytime minutes. Anytime is a more updated term for what used to be called “Peak Minutes”. In Lightyear Wireless, the Anytime minutes are Monday through Friday, 6:00 AM to 6:59 PM. The Nights & Weekends is everything outside of that.
This is a very typical application of “anytime” minutes which you will find in most wireless providers. The Anytime minutes is where you will find your restrictions. In the Lightyear Wireless plans, the basic plan gives you 450 Anytime minutes per month.
Is that something you can live with? Some people will advise you to over-estimate the minutes and pick the plan that will cover your estimation. However, another approach is to go low and save some money. Saving money is a much more important concept now especially when we’re talking about a 2 year contract.
If you “go low”, simply keep an eye on your minutes usage. Lightyear, like most providers, will let you check your minutes on the phone or online. And if you find your choice is too low, you can upgrade your plan. And you can upgrade your plan without a penalty. The reverse is not true. If you overestimate your minutes and never come close to using them, you cannot downgrade your plan and are therefore throwing away money.
So be wise in your minutes choices but be honest about it. And see what you do outside of those Anytime hours. Outside of that time period, you have plenty of minutes.
Everyone could use a few extra dollars coming in each month. But whoever heard of getting money from cell phone bills? Well that’s a way to earn extra income from Lightyear Wireless. Not only it is extra income, but it’s the very BEST kind of income.
It’s a type of income called residual income. Residual income is not your typical income. When you think of income, most people think in terms of what is called linear income. Linear income is when you work 8 hours for example and get paid for that 8 hours. You only get paid once for that 8 hours worth of work; you don’t get paid for it again the next day or the next week. That’s it; that’s all she wrote. That is why residual income is so far superior to linear income.
With residual income you do something once and you keep getting paid for it over and over again. In the case of Lightyear Wireless, I’ll give you an example. If you are rep in Lightyear Wireless and you sell a 2 year plan to someone for $90 per month, you earn a portion of that each month. You can earn as much as 10% from that each month. That would be $9 each month for two years for something you only sold once. Now $9 doesn’t sound like much, but what if you sold 100 plans? Or 500 plans? You can quickly see how residual income works in Lightyear Wireless and that’s what makes it such a slam dunk business opportunity for anyone wanting to start a home based business.
Yesterday I talked about the Lightyear media advertising, and today I learned a few more specifics about this. It will be a full length TV infomercial and calls will be sent to a marketing call center. From there, the numbers will be distributed to Lightyear reps who have purchased shares of the advertising. They will be distributed in the order purchased, so it’s first come, first served! Hot leads served up fresh. I am working to trying to obtain a schedule for the infomercial airing.
You know it’s easy to look at those infomercials and say: Blah! And you wonder why they keep airing. You might wonder if anyone ever actually watches them. Well the truth is people do watch them and they do work. If there is something in the infomercial that might solve a problem in someone’s life, you can bet they will pay attention.
And in the case of Lightyear Wireless, they are offering a way for people make extra income. Who would not be interested in that? So if you are on the fence about signing up for MyWirelessRep, now is a good time to get off that fence and take advantage of this advertising opportunity. Call me on my Lightyear Wireless phone if you have questions about this (206-362-3667).

Starting May 4, Lightyear Wireless will begin a series of media infomercials to expose the MyWirelessRep business model to millions of viewers on TV. This is something that has been somewhat missing from the Lightyear Wireless business in the past and I am happy to see it arrive. TV Advertising is a very effective advertising medium and its power can not be understated.
How many times have you remembered a commercial or infomercial? Sometimes they were annoying as heck, but guess what? You still remembered them. If there is any part of the ad that grabbed your interest in any way, chances are you watched it. Now days with
When the economy is not doing well, more people are needing to make extra income. They need answers. They need answers to questions like: how will I make ends meet next month? The worse economic conditions get, the more this is true. This drives many people to look at a home based business. And this will certainly get their interest.
As a Lightyear Wireless rep, you can purchase shares of this media advertising for as little as $60 per share. The leads generated from this advertising will be distributed among the shares. I can tell you from prior experience, people that call in on TV infomercials are among the hottest leads you can get.
So you’ve been sitting on the fence about joining Lightyear Wireless, now is the time to join and partake of this advertising bonanza!

AT&T is scheduled to report its first quarter financial results on Wednesday. Although the information is not officially released until Wednesday, things leak out ahead of time. They are expected to report steady results but not exceptional results. So that is probably going to be “neutral news” as far as investors are concered. AT&T’s primary business driver now is the wireless business, driven by their partnership with Apple’s iPhone.
They are still held down a bit by their landline holdings however. Verizon which is very similar to AT&T, however Verizon has invested heavily in fiber and their own wireless network, which stems the decline in landline holdings. Verizon of course is the underlying carrier of Lightyear wireless.
So if you join Lightyear Wireless, you know that the underlying carrier is on sturdy ground. It’s important that when you join a home based business, you familiarize yourself with the dependencies. In this case the dependency on Verizon is solid and was a wise partnership for Lightyear Wireless to choose.
Back in 2005 the auction giant, eBay, purchased the internet telephony service, Skype. It surprised a lot of people at the time, because there was this nagging question of what will eBay do with Skype?
Fast forward 4 years. eBay still has not figured out what to do with Skype and there are again rumors of them floating it for sale. The problem with Skype is that even though it’s a Voice over IP service (VOIP), it’s still largely a wired service. That means you have to use with either a stationary hand set or a fixed range hand set (like a cordless phone).
Trouble is, this isn’t where telecommunications is going. It’s gone (and is still going) wireless. VOIP Services like Skype and Vonage help to cut down old school wired phone costs (also known as POTS lines) but VOIP services still have the inherent limitations of being a wired service. Whoever ends up with Skype will have to figure out how to take it to the next level and somehow tap it into the wireless services. Clearly eBay has not figured out how to do that and probably wishes they had not purchased Skype.
I was reminded of the importance of a cell phone again the other day. I was just walking along the street at the bottom of a hill in my neighborhood. I witnessed a young woman on a bicycle crash. She was going down the hill, hit something, flew over the top of her handlebars and crashed to the pavement. She began screaming presumably in pain. Two motorists stopped but neither of them had phones. Fortunately I was already on it. I dialed 911, initiated the call, and got paramedics on the line.
This is one of the reason I always try to leave home with my phone. When I forget my phone, I feel like I’ve forgotten something important like a wallet or keys. I have been known to go back and get my phone when I forget it. So no one can tell me that cell phones are not an primary component of life today.
Oh, the young woman seemed to be better when she was talking to paramedics, so I left the scene then. But don’t forget your cell phone - even if you go out for a walk! You may need for your own sake or for the sake of someone else.
Not too long ago I gave up the wired phone that I had with Qwest. It simply didn’t make much sense to me to go on paying $50 per month for something I wasn’t using that much. It seemed like all my conversations were being held on my Lightyear Wireless phone or my other cell phone for my other business. So away it went!
Admittedly ,it’s sometimes hard to talk business on a cell phone. This is because you might be in a place that has a lot of background noise or just has poor reception. The wired phone would not do any good in those situations, and generally once I get back to the home office, the reception is fine. When that happens and there is trouble hearing or speaking for either party, I just offer to call them back. So who still uses wired phones and why?
My guess is that it’s people who still just don’t get cellular phones and their usage. Like these two. Or maybe there are people who really don’t want to be bothered by the phone when they go out. That’s a valid reason if the person feels that way. But the vast majority see the cell phone as a benefit to them, particularly if communication is important in their lives. Like someone looking for a job for example; They can be much more reachable by using a cell phone on their resume rather than their home phone. They may or may not be home when the prospective employer calls. Hmm. That is, if there are any prospective employers left?

Every time I look at the Lightyear Wireless selection of phones, I see ones that I don’t remember seeing before. They just keep adding wireless devices to their product offerings. One of the recent additions is the Motorola Rokr ZM6. Motorola loves to take the vowels out of their name (as in Razr) and use that as a brand. The Rokr as the name implies, is a Rocker.
It has the usual phone features, but the Rokr is built specifically to also act as a music player. You can pay MP3 files (among other file types) with its built in Microsoft Windows Media Player. You might wonder how good a phone can play music, but I heard one of these the other day and was amazed at the quality of sound coming from it. It has a 512 Meg MicroSD card and I believe it has expansion capacity up to 2 gigs. Wow. Well when it’s time for my next phone my biggest problem will be all the choices.
