Opportunity Hoppers

Have you ever met one of those people that hop from one home based business opportunity to another? Maybe you haven’t met them, but chances are you’ve gotten emails from them trying to get you in on their ‘latest and greatest’ opportunity.  Some people make their living from hoping around to different companies and asking their team to come with them.  The ones with the larger teams do this to have immediate success in their company.  This type of “opportunity hopper” is not a good person to sign up under.  Quite often, all they want is the sign up and don’t have any intention of working with you other than to perhaps get you started.

One of the questions you should ask before signing up with anyone is “how long have you been working with this company?” Anything less than a year and you should ask some more questions. A person could be new with a home based business and that would be a valid reason for being in the company for less than one year.  But ask them what companies they worked with in the past and ask the reason for leaving each one. Sometimes there are legitimate reasons to leave a company - the most common is that the company folds.  But often these people just get tired of the company and then move on to greener pastures.

This endless cycle of moving around is not a good way to approach a home based business.  Find a company you like and stick with it!

Pay no mind to the Artificial Goal

Huh? What am I saying here? The Artificial Goal is something held up that looks perfect against something less perfect or against something just plain lousy. It’s a concept used all the time in advertising. State a problem and then show a perfect example of someone who solved the problem. In network marketing, this is done by high income claims. “Such and such person made $400,000 last year, and so can you.”

What is your goal for success? Everyone would like to make $400,000 per year or more, but what is your realistic goal? That is something to focus on in your home based business and ignore the Artificial Goal. Maybe your goal is to replace the income from your job. Then when you reach that goal, set another, then another. Perhaps you have very high goal, more than $400,000 per year, that’s fine. But make sure your goal is YOUR goal and not someone else’s.

Charging Ports will be Standardized

Have you ever had the exasperating experience of not being able to find your charger and then having to order a new one? Or going to nearest Verizon store to find the right one for your phone? Or not being able to lend your friend your charger when she needs to charge her phone?  Those days should be coming to an end soon.

Earlier this year, a group of wireless phone manufacturers have agreed to use the same charging port on all their models by 2012. The companies who agreed to this are Nokia, LG, Motorola, Samsung and Sony Ericsson. I don’t know if Apple has agreed to this which might be a strike against the IPhone in an open market.  The idea here is that manufacturers can ultimately safe money by shipping mobile phones without a power charger. Since power chargers will be standard, they’ll be a commodity item which you’ll probably be able to get at the corner 7-11. No more worrying about losing your charger!

Lightyear Adds New Phones

Lightyear Wireless is not a company to just sit on its laurels. OK, I guess companies don’t have laurels but you know what I mean. Lightyear Wireless is always looking at the market and ways it can improved its product offering. Too often, network marketing companies fuss too much about the business opportunity side and spend little time if any building their product offering. Not so with Lightyear Wireless.

Lightyear has added 3 new phones to their offering. They now offer in addition to all those other phones, they now offer the Blackberry Pearl, Motorola SilverQ, and Palm Treo. All three of these can be had for free with a plan and a passing credit check.

A Realistic Home Based Business

A lot of time, when you research a home based business, you run into people selling unattainable dreams. Oh sure, in every home business company, there will be a few who earn big money and can make claims of living on the beach and working just a few hours a week. But most of that talk is smoke and mirrors as this article describes when he tells his experience with a certain questionable company. Warning that story is not for the faint at heart.

The best thing about Lightyear Wireless is that it’s a realistic home based business. There is the opportunity to make loads of money but you can make a decent living at it as well. I don’t live on the beach and I work far more than a few hours a week, but I make a comfortable living thanks to Lightyear Wireless. It’s all real and it’s all based on a solid product line and service that everyone needs. Not some mumbo jumbo smoke and mirror business - a real home based business.
